Placeholder — copy needed

This page needs real copy, reviewed by whoever is established as the legal publisher — the entity that owns the domain and this site. That decision is still open. What follows describes only what this site actually does today, as a starting point for that review. It is not a privacy policy.

What this site collects today

This is a static site. It has no accounts, no login, and no database. There is no advertising tag and no cross-site tracking.

We count visits with Clicky, a web analytics service. When you load a page, it records the page, the site that sent you, your browser and device type, and an approximate location worked out from your internet address. It runs through this site’s own address, not a third-party one. You can opt out with Clicky’s opt-out page.

The one exception is the contact form. Anything typed into it — name, email, optional phone, which door fits, your answer to “What’s your Egypt?” and how you heard about us — is stored in a Google Sheet, which means Google holds it on our behalf, and is emailed to the people who read and answer these messages. It is not shared, sold or used for marketing. The server that passes it along records only that a message arrived, never what it says.

What still has to be decided

  • The legal entity publishing this site.
  • Who reads contact form submissions, and for how long they are kept.
  • How someone asks for their information to be deleted.

Answers to those questions are what turn this page into a policy.
